Part of the Lake James Chain

In the northeastern corner of Indiana, Snow Lake is the northern tip of the Lake James chain of lakes.

Angola is just south of the lake, providing restaurants, schools, Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, and more. Travel less than an hour to Fort Wayne for facilities like Fort Wayne International Airport or Parkview Hospital.

Over 400 Acres of Sparkling Waters

Snow Lake boasts 422 acres of water with visibility as deep as 25 feet. Glaciers created snow Lake and the rest of the Lake James chain over 10,000 years ago.

From Snow Lake, you can access well over 1,000 acres of water. The public can access the waters with access points on Jimmerson Lake or Big Otter Lake.

Activity for Everyone

Snow Lake supports a wide variety of recreation, including boating, water skiing, fishing, tubing, jet skiing, and more.

A canal on the southern shore will give you access to Lake James' vast waters, where you can join in on the same activities. Around the Lake James shore, you will find many sandy beaches.

Largemouth bass, catfish, and bluegill dominate the fishing scene, but anglers also catch walleye, panfish, and white crappie.

State Park and Lake Events

Pokagon State Park borders much of Lake James's eastern shore. The park offers lodging at its campground or Potawatomi Inn.

Eleven miles of trails wind about the park for hiking, horseback riding, or biking. During the winter, people come to the park for snow-sledding, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and snowshoeing.

Lake James puts on a fantastic celebration for the 4th of July. Hundreds of lake goers float around the lake's sandbar for a grand all-day celebration. The night ends with a show-stopping firework display.
